The School boys playing a game of soccer. |
Soccer. The boys play soccer in two different age groups. The development group is from U/15, and the senior team starts from U/17 to U/21. They compete in friendly matches against nine other schools from all over the country. We compete along with many other similar schools in the Winter Games. |
Netball. This is a highlight for our learners. They have a chance to develop skills and be part of a team. The two netball teams ( A and B team) practice very hard. Neighbouring schools e.g. Thembinkosi, Hamlet and Felicitas are invited every year to friendly matches at our school. These events builds bridges and is always a great success. Our teams participate on a yearly basis in the Winter Games against 10 other schools and do very well. We are proud of these teams. We are fortunate to have an all weather netball court that makes practise easier. Swimming. Our swimming team is very enthusiastic to take part in all the events. They swim backstroke, breaststroke and free-style. We participate in the Summer Games every year. We also have a swimming pool at school which helps for practice sessions. |

Senior Athletics. They compete in the following events: Track - 80m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1200m (girls), 1500m (boys) and relay. Field events: shot put, long jump and high jump. Down's syndrome learners compete separately. Junior Athletics. We identified a need for the U/10 and younger learners to be exposed to athletics, as they never had the opportunity to compete. Since 1997 we provided for this need with an annual one-day Junior Athletics meeting. |
