While financial donations give Con Amore School the ability to invest in the right tools and resources to aid this cause, you can give a lot more than just what’s in your wallet. Con Amore School and Intervention Centre believes that the best results come when we fight for them together—as a community.
Consider not only donating, but also finding ways to get involved with our cause. Become a part of our active community and get to know others like you who are eager to make a difference. Every helping hand count! We combine generous giving with volunteer opportunities, awareness efforts, and more to help turn our goals into accomplishments. You can raise funds or get involved in our feeding scheme and feel the satisfaction of making a difference. If you do not feel up to getting involved on a bigger scale, small gestures are welcomed just as much … we welcome children’s clothes, educational toys or even cupcakes on a birthday to brighten someone’s day.
By the way, did we mention one hundred percent of your fundraiser donations go directly into helping improve the lives of individuals struggling with disabilities? It’s true! Con Amore School and Intervention Centre is highly invested in changing the lives of individuals with unique needs.
Swinging, jumping, spinning and rocking are important to children not only for fun and exercise but also to help their bodies organize and to regulate their sensory systems. It helps children prepare posture, maintain balance, properly use their vision, calm themselves and regulate their behavior. Swinging can have a powerful impact the brain’s ability to process and use sensory information. At Con Amore, we are pleased to have swing facilities available to our children on our playgrounds. If we had a swing for every child in the school, it would be without a doubt be a happy place.
Playgrounds for children with physical or mental disabilities are more challenging and we take every care to provide them with the stimulus needed to promote happy play time.
We find that special needs children tend to become very passive and constant stimulation is needed.
Apart from swings, we have jungle gym facilities, netted playground for ball games and ample space for our little ones to explore and play. We are also fortunate, our older children built checkers boards on some of our concrete tables for our young adults to entertain themselves.
As mentioned in our Autism section, we are on a drive to obtain funds and sponsors for outdoor gym equipment (that you normally find in public parks) that will extend our training and play facilities for our children. If you would like to get involved in this initiative, please contact our school for more information.
